Inle – Nyaungshwe region has a few midrange hotels which offer more comfort than budget hotels with much better facility. All these hotels have private bathrooms with hot-shower, satellite TV, air-con and fridge. The following are the midrange hotels in Inle – Nyaungshwe region.
Nanda Wunn Hotel
This hotel situated in a large quiet compound a few blocks east of the Nyaungshwe Market is only a few bucks more expensive than other budget hotels but the larger, superior bungalows with high ceiling, individual porches and bathrooms with bath tubs deserve that few extra bucks. Although the location is a little outside the town center, Nyaungshwe is a small town and a bicycle (or even walking) is sufficient for you to travel all over the town. Staffs at Nanda Wunn Hotel are quite friendly and will arrange boats, bicycle and guides for your trip.
Comments on Trip Advisor by previous visitors:
“The hotel is located on the main street very near the most recommended places to eat, the Aung Puppet Show (don’t miss this), and the incredible massage place run by the Win Nyunt family. The staffs were helpful but not overly friendly and a very nice breakfast was included in the rate.
We looked at several hotels/inns and this looked like the very best of all except the outrageously expensive hotels out on the lake. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in town.”
“Our room was a decently sized one, with 2 beds. The hotel does have AC though they do suffer the same power outages you’ll experience throughout the country. The bathroom was a bit dark, but certainly serviceable.
Staff was very friendly, and arranged our boat ride on Inle Lake, including a trip to Indein at no additional cost. The restaurant was nothing to write home about — and Nyaungshwe has such an abundance of good eateries, you really should get out and explore.”
